I am a stay at home mom of six kids: Abigail (19), Jonah (17), Naomi (15), Ezekiel (10), Elias (9), & Malachi (6)! About the time I get the ages down, someone has a birthday, but it will be correct for a little while. I have spent most of my adult life living in the Des Moines, Iowa metro area. I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, home of the Iowa Hawkeyes, recently made famous by Caitlin Clark.

I attended Central College in Pella, Iowa and graduated with a double major in Spanish & International Studies and a minor in Sociology/Anthropology. After college, I promptly took a job that had nothing to do with my major, but the job market was tight and I needed a job. I worked for a Retirement Services Company in Corporate America for 14 years. I began in customer service and finished as a Lean Sigma coach, focusing on process improvements and coaching.

After my fifth child was born, it became too difficult to balance work and home life so I decided to stay home with the kids, which turned out to be a good decision once COVID arrived as we would not have survived with two working parents and six kids in the house.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my kids and friends, and texting my long distance “twin.” Hypothetically, I enjoy traveling, but I am married to a non-traveler, have become a homebody since COVID and have six kids so it’s only hypothetical! I live vicariously through my friends and social media.
